End of Season Update!

I can't believe that 12 weeks have gone by as quick as they have! I am immensely proud of all the girls in this program and the improvement they have made both in their teams and individually. We are headed in a positive direction as program, and I can't wait to see where we get to next season! 




Week 11 (October 28 - November 2)

Varsity Update!

WE DID IT! We set a goal to make to post-season play, and here we are preparing for our play-in game! I'm so proud of the girls for everything they have done to get the team to this point. Now let's keep this going! 


To ensure we get plenty of turf time to prepare for our game, we have adjusted practice times slightly. 



Week 10 (October 21 - October 25)

Week 9 (October 14 - October 18)

This is a busy week for our program! JV has 3 games this week, varsity takes on Marist at home, and Homecoming activities start on Friday. Please read the details below for the week and reach out if you have any questions.

Week 8 (October 7 - October 11)

Apparel update!--Eugene Silkscreen had hoped to have our order done Friday last week, but due to some illnesses, they hope to have it finished Monday. I will do my best to get it out to players as soon as possible. I appreciate your patience.

Week 7 (September 30 - October 4)

League begins this week, and both teams are READY for it!! It is important to remember that during league, decisions will be made for each game that will help the team implement the best strategy possible against that particular opponent. That means the team may play a different formation and playing time may look different. This is so that we can leverage our strengths against specific opponents to bring us success. Every game requires a different strategy because every opponent is different.

Week 6 (September 23 - September 27)

This week we have an awesome opportunity to go watch the University of Oregon's women's soccer team play against Indiana. Watching collegiate level soccer is an excellent learning experience for all players. See the details about attending the game below.

Week 5 (September 16 - September 20)

It's apparel ordering time! Players will receive an order form at practice this Wednesday. If players or their families wish to place an order, they must fill out the form and then turn the form and the money (cash or check) into Mrs. Twyman in the front office by end of day this Wednesday, September 18th. This is a hard deadline, and no orders will be accepted after this point.

Week 3 (September 2 - September 6)

Our Philomath Jamboree games last week were a great opportunity to test our skills against opponents. We saw some great ball move through passing, and we learned of some areas we can focus on in our upcoming practices and games.

Week 2 (August 26 - August 30)

We ended week 1 by winning the TEAM SPIRIT award at Meet the Lions, and I can't think of a better way to wrap up our first week of season! Now it's time to keep up the conditioning and practice to get ready for our Philomath Jamboree.

Week 1 (August 19 - August 23)

Soccer season is officially here, and we are so excited for it to begin! This is the first weekly update of the season and new updates will be posted every Sunday afternoon for the upcoming week.

August 2024 Update!

The start of the season is getting closer! This is an important time to take care of the items you need to in order to be able to participate right away. 


PeaceHealth will offer physicals at CGHS in the main building on 

Wednesday, August 14th, 6:00-7:30pm. The cost is $25. 


Monday, 8/19: 8:00-10:00am AND 3:00-5:00pm

Tuesday, 8/20: 8:00-10:00am

Wednesday, 8/21: 8:00-10:00am AND 3:00-5:00pm

July 2024 Update!

Summer Workouts start this week (week of July 8th)!

*For liability purposes, you will not be allowed to participate in any type of workout until the above google form is completed by a parent or guardian.

Weight Room: A guided weightlifting program is run M-Th. There is a co-ed lifting session from 7:00-8:00am and a girls lifting session from 9:00-10:00am.

Soccer Workouts: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am-11:00am. Meet on the turf field with cleats and shinguards on ready to go.

Practice uniform: Shirt with sleeves, athletic shorts or leggings, running shoes, all soccer gear (cleats, shin guards, & socks). Bring water with you!

A huge shout out to all who worked, volunteered and attended the 9 to 5 Camp! I have received so much positive feedback from coaches, parents, and community members about our girls soccer players. It makes me very proud of our program!

Spring workouts are underway! These workouts will focus on easing back into soccer shape through conditioning and ball skills work. We will always start in our running shoes and begin the warm up promptly at 3:30pm.

Spring Workouts

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:30-5:00pm

Where: Meet at the soccer equipment shed.

Practice uniform: Shirt with sleeves, athletic shorts or leggings, running shoes, all soccer gear (cleats, shin guards, & socks). Pack clothes for all types of weather! Spring in Oregon is unpredictable!

Bring a water bottle with you!

April 2024 Update!

Hi Everyone, 

My name is Sarah Leonard, and I currently teach at Cottage Grove HS. I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to take on the role of head coach for the girl's soccer program. I look forward to developing our players and program in a way that models our school's values and makes us a competitive team in our league. Let's get to work!
